AYC offers a variety of sailing events and racing series for adults and juniors. We sail a range of boats including the Optimist, Sunfish, Laser, Club 420 and a small number of offshore keelboats. In addition to the club level events, the AYC hosts three invitational events including the Avalon MAYRA Regatta, AYC Juniors Regatta and the Avalon Cup Offshore Race.

Highlights of the AYC Sailing Schedule:

• PSS: Pre-Season and Post-Season Sailing

Pre-Season Sailing is an informal gathering of sailors who have some experience and their own boats (Sunfish, Lasers, Optis, 420s, Flying Scots… are all welcome.) Just show up on Saturdays at 11:00am in May and June (weather permitting). Maybe we can find someone to set some marks or even a give us a start?

Don’t put your boat away at the end of racing season. Post-Season Sailing at 11:00am on Saturdays, from late August through the end of September, provides for plenty of season-extending sailing adventures.

• “All Dingy Fleets” Memorial Day and Labor Day Regattas

All Lasers, Sunfish, Optimists and 420 sailors are encouraged to participate! Dust off your sails and get ready for the Memorial Day Regatta held on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend at 1pm. Plan to extend your sailing season and participate in the Labor Day Regatta held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend at 1pm. Sailors and spectators are invited to the après-sailing festivities and award presentation in the Grill Room.

• “MAYRA Junior Regattas” for Optis, Sunfish, Lasers, & C420s
