Ladies,
Being President of the
Women’s Auxiliary never crossed my mind until 3 years
ago when Paul decided to join the flag. At first I
thought what is he doing to me? I don’t have any time to
do this. Is he crazy?
But my cries went
unheard because Paul said they needed him to volunteer
and here we are 3 years later. But I must confess we
have enjoyed our time on the flag thoroughly. It wasn’t
until Paul stepped up to the flag that I came to realize
and appreciate the countless hours and dedication that
our members have made to give us ALL these wonderful
memories and relaxing days at the shore. I came to
understand the reality that it was time
for us to give back.
Therefore, I encourage
all the ladies of the club to come to a Women’s
Auxiliary Meeting and serve on a committee. Once you
meet people and have some fun you will juggle your
schedule and find the necessary time it takes to help
make a difference. The fruits of your labor will be the
long lasting friendships that you will make that far
outweigh the time offered up to support the club.
It is through our
efforts that many of the “wish list” items for the AYC
come to fruition. In addition, we donate a certain
portion of our proceeds to local charities each year.
For example, last year we donated 20% of our income to 4
local charities. So please come out and support us in
our efforts. I am looking forward to meeting you!
